This cool looking item of brass, was made in 1917. It was used by Soldiers to polish their brass uniform buttons. The device was slipped underneath the button, which made polishing easier.
What is it and for whom was it made? It's hard to see, but it says "Kia Ora", which means "Hello" in Polynesian. Thanks Heike.
