Large Royal Doulton Bulldog has variations other 
than those described in Charlton. The general 
rule of determining age is by adding 27 to the 
number at the right side of the backstamp, but
sometimes the number is absent as is the photo
at the top.

Royal Doulton Figurine "The Old Balloon Seller" - 
HN 1315. Charlton lists numbers HN1315 & HN3737. 
Both listing as having colors of green, purple, 
yellow and white. None showing blue as the color 
of the dress or coat. Who slipped in the blue?

Something to Consider

Someone forgot the makeup. Notice the difference
between the two. Although the images are of
miniature pieces, the point of selecting well painted
pieces is made.

Here are two variations of Christmas Day. Note
the left image has makeup and a pink muff, while
the image on the right has no makeup and a cherry
red muff.
