HOW TRUSTWORTHY ARE
PRICE GUIDES?

In my humble opinion, price guides are not in the least accurate. But how can they
be - since sales are down due to the economy and the sources for price guides 
numbers, auctions, have decreased in numbers and are selling "lots" for  price that
single pieces were once going for. Shills are no longer in the audiences of auctions as
they have better things to do with their time.

Even Ebay is becoming unreliable, as the volume of auctions have decreased dramatically,
decreasing the number of completed auctions.  Some quality pieces do bring higher than
usual bids, but know where even close to what they used to be.

Still we keep on going with our crazy collecting habits.
