FYI (For Your Information)

This page is about you, the customer or visitor. We receive many phone calls each day inquiring 
not only about our items for sale, but concerning items that they have for sale or waant to price 
out. They may have inheritied them from their grandparents or parents and want to get the best
price for them or just want to know what their worth.

First of all, it's impossible to tell them what an item is worth without actually seeing it and holding
it in hand. What the caller or emailer thinks is mint may be worthless. "It only has a little scratch 
in it" --- yeh, but the little scratch goes all the way through to the bottom. So, telling them the worth
of the item is just plain guessing.

Stories I don't need to hear. "My grandmother stored the vase in a glass curio cabinet for 50 years 
and never used it. "Actually the vase was used as a door stop and kicked by everyone who entered 
house.

Things to Do:

Search for the item on the Internet: Inquirers who email us obviously know how to email, but little 
else. The Search Engines are there for them to use. Just go to Google or Yahoo and type in  what you 
are seaching for. Hundreds to sources of information will pop up.
Do your home work. 

Buy A Text: Also buy a text on the subject. At the bottom of my home page is listed the best
source for books on Royal Doulton. You don't necessarily need the latest edition of the book, so look
at Amazon for a used book.
