Doulton Lambeth Ink Bottles
These little gems were widely used in shops as well as schools.
They were filled using Master Ink Bottles as illustrated below.

Description: This Salt Glaze bottle stands 7 1/4" tall. It was
considered a "master ink" and was used to fill other smaller
bottles. It is impressed Doulton. This particular shape was
known as the "Church Warden". The Table of registration
marks does not list the the design shown above. I suspect it
was made c. 1876.

Item No: D405
Description: This bottle, also in known as the Church Warden is
similar to the one above, except it measures 7" tall. The
registration which is impressed near the bottom shows it was
made on the 28th day of December in the year 1876. It does
have a slight chip on the opposite side of the lip. Otherwise it is
in fine condition.
