The old rule of thumb dating figurines by adding  27 to the number
to the right of the Doulton backstamp sure rings true when looking 
at the following photos of the figurine "Sweet Lavender". The date 
of manufacture can barely be made out when looking at the left top 
corner, but when viewed from the second photo. A special treatment 
of the image was made to  enhance the detail of crazing and date of 
manufacture beneath the glaze.
