WORLIDGE, Thomas. A SELECT COLLECTION  OF  DRAWINGS 
FROM CURIOUS ANTIQUE GEMS; MOST OF THEM IN THE 
POSSESSION OF THE NOBILITY AND GENTRY OF THIS 
KINGDOM; ETCHED AFTER THE MANNER OF REMBRANDT. 

Two volumes.
 London: Printed by Dryden Leach, for M. Worlidge, 1767  
(i.e., c.1780). Small 4to. (iv), 7 pages, 53 leaves of engravings; 47 
leaves of engravings. After establishing himself as a miniature 
portrait painter, Worlidge (1700-1766) turned to engraving in the 
style of Rembrandt. 
This collection was first published in 1768 with 182 plates, without 
the letterpress text and printed on satin. Copies were later issued at 
various times with the original date and 108 plates. This copy is 
however, dated one year earlier and has 100 plates. There is no title 
page to volume two. Each plate has the original tissue guard. Some 
light rubbing, but a very good example of 18th century binding.
